Early Life and Computer Skills
Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London, England. He was raised in Milan, Italy, and developed a keen interest in computers from a young age. He used his computer skills to create websites that documented Eucharistic miracles and other Catholic events.
A Model for Young Catholics
Acutis died of leukemia on October 12, 2006, at the age of 15. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020, and is now considered a role model for young Catholics. He is known for his love of the Eucharist and his use of technology to spread the Catholic faith.
Recognition of a Miracle
On May 23, 2024, Pope Francis recognized a second miracle attributed to Acutis. This miracle involves the healing of a Brazilian child from a congenital defect. This recognition brings Acutis one step closer to sainthood.
