Carlos Alcaraz has defeated Novak Djokovic 6-2 6-2 7-6 in the gentlemen's singles final of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
The 37-year-old Serb played some of his best tennis of a season that has so far been unusually challenging and immediately allayed the injury concerns.
The Championships 2024 began with two days of Gentlemen's and Ladies' qualifying on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 July, before the main draw starting on Wednesday 3 July.
The Championships will be played over 14 days, finishing on Sunday 14 July.
Kate, Princess of Wales, and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, watched the men's singles final between Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
