Storrs, Connecticut - The University of Connecticut Huskies punched their ticket to the 2024 NCAA March Madness championship game with an impressive 86-72 victory over the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in the Final Four semifinals. The Huskies, who are seeking to defend their national title, put in a dominant performance to overcome their formidable opponent.
UConn guard Azzi Fudd led the scoring with a game-high 21 points, while center Dorka Juhász contributed 19 points and 9 rebounds. The Huskies controlled the game from the opening tip, establishing an early lead and maintaining it throughout the contest. Their strong defense held Alabama to just 36.8% shooting from the field, while their efficient offense converted 52.9% of their attempts.
Alabama's scoring was led by guard Brittany Davis, who tallied 20 points. Forward JaMya Mingo added 16 points for the Crimson Tide, but their efforts were not enough to overcome UConn's superior performance. UConn will now face the winner of the other Final Four semifinal between Stanford and South Carolina in the championship game.
